Ever wonder why a town like Las Vegas continues to build new and extravagant hotels and casinos? The house always wins would be as good an answer as any as why the town of Las Vegas continues to make money.
While Casinos generally make good money, there are some games that give you the player, slightly better odds of winning.
Casino poker: Generally when poker players are competing in a tournament, they are competing against each other and not the house. While the house takes a small amount per hand, the players competing against each other are the big winners and losers. Even having a slight knowledge of poker should give you better odds of winning against players who are just beginning.
Blackjack: While it is discouraged to count cards during the game of blackjack, it is also a common practice. When counting cards during blackjack, the player has a 1-2 percent advantage over the casino. While not illegal, card counters should practice their skills at home, and then be able to hide their skills while playing.
Video poker: Okay, so no mention of slot machines so far but those video poker games can be productive if you really know how to play the game you’ve chosen. Video poker machines typically have a number of games to choose from like Deuces Wild, Poker or Blackjack. Choose the game that matches your intellectual skill set, and you might just walk away a winner.
Sometimes there is no rhyme or reason as to why the odds favor certain players. Play more and your chances of winning and losing are certainly greater.
